The benefits of Manna's work are both dramatic and quantifiable. Manna's hardworking homeowners become stakeholders and commit to improve city services in their neighborhood, reduce crime, improve schools and reduce the need for expensive social services. As a result, their surrounding neighborhoods begin to blossom into strong communities where people thrive, take pride and help each other. Your gifts to Manna truly give us the ability to create more affordable housing for sale to lower-income families and are crucial in making a lasting, positive difference in their lives and communities.

We depend on the generous support of foundations, corporations, religious groups and individuals to support our work. Nearly 60% of Manna's annual budget is earned income from the sale of homes. Another 10% is earned income from contracts with other nonprofit organizations and with the DC government.  The remaining 30% is charitable donations from our supporters.

Through Stock

Manna encourages gifts of stock. Those who make gifts of appreciated securities to nonprofit organizations can obtain certain capital gains tax advantages. While there are alternate methods of making a gift of stock to Manna, we strongly encourage our donors to use their broker to effectuate a wire transfer to our account
